I run personal experiments on sunlight, biology, and aging.
I test everything on myself, then simplify what actually works over time.
My Current Experiment:
Only Using My Phone Outdoors
Most people check their phone hundreds of times per day.
Almost all of it happens indoors under artificial light.
So I’m testing something simple:
What happens if I only check my phone/use electronics outside?
The protocol
For the next 7 days:
You can use your phone/laptop/tv whenever you want.
But only while outside.
If you want to:
• check messages
• scroll
• email
• social media
You must step outside in daylight first.
What I’m observing
mood / anger / anxiety
focus / adhd
sleep quality w/oura ring
eye strain / fatigue
Why this is interesting
Modern dopamine stimulation happens almost entirely indoors.
That means the brain receives:
• artificial light
• no UV
• limited infrared
• minimal environmental signals
Blue light from artificial lights also depletes dopamine.
Windows block most of these signals as well.
This experiment forces dopamine activity to occur in natural light instead.

I document everything I test + what actually works
This is all real-time. Some of it might be wrong.
That’s the point.
